From now on SIRI will be able to grant residence and work permits for herdsmen and farm managers for up to 4 years at a time rather than as is the case today for respectively 1, 2 or 3 years at a time. The change is due to a change to an executive order which takes effect today 8 February 2022.
The change will take effect for both existing and new applications and for both first time applications and applications for extensions. If the employment/contract allows it (e.g. a permanent contract), we will therefore from today grant residence and work permits for herdsmen or farm managers with a duration of up to 4 years. Please be aware that the requirement for the passport to valid for the entire duration of the residence permit continues to be in effect. A residence permit can therefore only be valid for up to 3 months before the expiry date of your passport.
